Hazardous Waste
Household hazardous waste or residential electronic scrap items should not be placed on the curb with or in your container for collection with garbage or heavy trash pickup. These items should be taken to the City of Houston Environmental Service Center at 11500 South Post Oak, just south of Loop 610. The center is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The ESC accepts most household hazardous wastes such as anti-freeze, batteries, fuel, oil, paint, pesticides and household cleaners. Electronics such as monitors, CPUs, televisions, and VCRs will also be accepted.
